Flop House fan Ian Whitney was good enough to put together this wonderful index of all the films the Original Peaches have recommended over the course of the podcast, categorized both by episode and host, so if you’ve ever wanted to know how many times Stu’s recommended certain movies, now’s your chance!
(A link to this list now also lives in the sidebar. Thanks again, Ian!)
Wow, that’s super impressive!
In honor of award season, I’d like to recommend Academy Award for Best Actress nominee Jennifer Lawrence’s film. Not the one she got the nod for being in though. It’s “House of the End of the Street” although I really wish it had been Stuart Wellington’s House at the End of the Street. More then Ti West films (which I like), it’s very 1980s horror (it makes zero sense and super schlocky movie). Although I kind of feel there is a fourth flopper, it would the character of Tyler Reynolds. Well, he doesn’t flop, but do a somersault and deliver tons of exposition and be a plot device to get this girl into bad situations (the actor who played him was the non-porno actor who co-stars with Lindsay Lohan that that movie that got written up by the New York Times Magazine).
Also kind of have a feeling that the script was originally written with being set in Woodshire, Conn. and then changed to Woodshire, Central Pa. yet they forgot to change the Bridgeport reference. Also love that they didn’t even bother to Ottawa logo on the police cruiser.
One tip would be not to read the Wikipedia summary until afterwards since the “twist” is something that’s pretty dumb, but also the film manages to be super obvious about yet at the same time having trouble getting to it’s still being explained up to the last frame.
Although it’s still bad-bad movie
