Smalltember (Smallvember) begins with a return appearance by the Flop House’s favorite (insomuch as a terrible asshole can be a favorite) Canadian energy drink magnate-turned-filmmaker, Frank D’angelo, and his latest cinematic leavings, The Joke Thief. Meanwhile, Stuart reveals his love for all things Stu, Dan gives a few minor script notes, and Elliott’s Nicholas Cage has snakes on the brain.

It’s not “The Canadian Guy”, it’s “That Canadian Guy”; I think Glen Foster made a short, or maybe it was a Labatt’s ad, about being proudly Canadian, and he’s been known as “That Canadian Guy” ever since.
He’s a fixture on the CBC’s “Debaters” programme, which show is often funny because 0.) they have two comedians debate without much recourse to fact, and 1.) you get to hear Canadians insult each other.

Thank you!
Hearing your reactions to Ed the Sock made my week. I had no idea he wasn’t known outside of Canada.
I wouldn’t worry about ‘punching down’: Frank D’Angelo likely could buy-out all of your assets and mine, too.
